Self Catering

While the majority of the interns and students on our programmes stay with Irish host families, some prefer a more independent lifestyle in self-catering accommodation. This is generally a more expensive option than homestay accommodation, due to the added cost of buying food and, in the case of house sharing, utility bills and other costs.
There are two options for short-term self-catering accommodation: house sharing and university campus accommodation.
House Sharing
Many students and young adults in Ireland share apartments (flats) or houses with like-minded individuals. Generally, this will be in a single bedroom, sharing living, cooking and bathroom facilities, in exchange for monthly rent and a proportion of the cost of utilities such as heat, electricity, cable TV and so on.
Most rental arrangements entail a lease of one year, with a month’s rent as deposit, so it is often not suitable for a short-term situation such as internship. However, we have a limited number of house share opportunities that will facilitate more flexible arrangements for our internship clients, subject to availability.
University Campus Accommodation
Living on the campus in one of Dublin’s top universities can be a simpler option for independent living, as there is no deposit or utility bills to pay, just rental costs.
Accommodation consists of a single ensuite room (with bathroom), with shared living and cooking facilities. College facilities such as gymnasium, swimming pool or restaurant can also be used for an additional fee.
Please let us know when booking your internship with us if you are interested in self-catering options.
