The results of our ongoing host company feedback survey are very positive, with an overwhelming majority confirming that interns have been making a “significant contribution” to their organisations.
The greatest contributions were in providing “an extra pair of hands”, as well as contributing to specific project work and assisting with routine admin tasks.
Key factors influencing the decision to host an intern were “no cost / no fees” and “give young people an opportunity to develop”.
A surprising result is that 55% of respondents to date found that the interns’ new media skills were “not relevant”, as individual companies have praised interns’ input into social networking strategies, such as creating and distributing videos and using Facebook to promote the organisations. We hope to see more host companies benefiting from interns’ new media skills in future.
We were please to see that 82% of respondents were “very satisfied” with the IE Partners internship programme overall.
